We are two sisters, Gloria and Vicky Hayford. In late 2004 we approached our Dad with a proposal to turn his father's four bedroom house into self catering villas, so that visitors to Ghana could enjoy his hospitality. Sadly he died within a couple of months of agreeing to the project. It took us a while, but we have finally finished the villas, and as a dedication to his memory, we have named them Sam's Villas.
We were born in Ghana but emigrated to the UK in the late 70s when we were young kids. However, we have been fortunate enough to visit Ghana on a regular basis since we became adults, and we try to take a short trip out of Accra whenever we visit. All the recommendations in this website are our own and are based on our experiences. If you have a different one, please let us know, and we will add your comments or stories.
We want this site to be more than a place to rent one of the villas, we want it to be somehere you can get useful and sensible information about visiting Accra and Ghana. Much as we want to, we haven't been much further north than Kumasi, which as you will see from looking at a map, means we haven't covered much at all. Our travels have mostly been limited to the towns along the coast. We love that area so much that we tend not to go any further. Hopefully creating this website will act as an incentive for us, and you, to do more travelling.
